Wednesday builds, Saturday notes
Pokemon Battle Advanced updates
Published by: pokemonbattleadvanced.com editorial desk
Last verified 23 October 2026. In-game title screen: v0.1.0-demo. File names still say 0.2.0-demo. See updates.
How the developer ships
Patreon check on 23 October 2026: the public creator page shows a locked post titled Devlog #4 — 0.2.5: Cerulean, a Misty fight on water, and battles that move. Only its title and teaser were visible. This is a supporter-post version label, not evidence that the free itch.io download has become 0.2.5; the public browser title still displayed v0.1.0-demo in our check.
Devlog #1, dated 17 October 2026, says new builds go up on Wednesdays and devlogs on Saturdays. Patreon supporters get the Wednesday build and the in-between work. I am not dating the next build. The author did not name one.
The title screen I saw on 23 October reads v0.1.0-demo. The zip files still say 0.2.0-demo. itch.io does not print a version on the store page. I treat the title screen as the build label and the filenames as filenames. I will not write “current version 0.2.0.”

What Devlog #1 actually added
The 17 October note lists new moves: Absorb, Mega Drain, Leech Life, Acid, Sludge, Smog, Spark, Sonic Boom, Astonish, Wrap, Pound, and a Self-Destruct that knocks the user out. Fixes include battle flow that no longer skips EXP, evolutions that teach a move once, wild and trainer Pokémon that stop drifting, mixed-terrain footing, trainers unstuck from trees, the invisible wall in Diglett’s Cave removed, and a jump hint.
Friendship is a hidden number with four words: Wary, Content, Happy, Devoted. Pet, Feed, and Picnic raise it. Fainting is remembered. It does not change battle numbers. TMs sit in a TM Case, stay after use, and only teach moves that species can learn. The first TMs are placed in Mt. Moon. Route 3 is split into ledges you can jump down, with eight trainers from the original game and a hidden Oran Berry. Mt. Moon has three floors, FireRed collision, a lantern, Charmander’s tail as a light, one fossil choice, and a hidden Clefairy room. Training dummies in Viridian and Pewter do not fight back or give a normal battle payout; the developer also says the courts work as EV training and will be rebalanced. Misty’s room is half water. Next on the author’s list: Cerulean, Team Rocket’s first appearance, an Mt. Moon side path, abilities that actually work, and more online-battle work.
Those devlog places may be on the Patreon build. The public itch description still ends at Brock. I am not telling you Route 3 is in the free download.
- Official: some moves still use a placeholder hit flash.
- Official: abilities do nothing in battle yet.
- Official: trainer fights are 1-on-1. Two fighters are for wild battles.
- Official: the first area can hitch while shaders compile.
- Players report: phone saves vanishing, a PC box crash, Pidgeotto that cannot be caught in the air, no EXP on a catch, Instant text locking, party order not saving, and a damaged macOS app.
Continue with your game
